Job Description

Our Legal, Risk & Compliance team is central to our mission of strengthening society through world-class governance by providing trusted legal and risk advice and operational excellence that supports high‑quality decision-making across the organisation.

We are seeking a Legal and Risk Operations Coordinator—a proactive, organised and detail‑driven professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. If you’re passionate about legal operations, process improvement and supporting high‑performing teams, this role offers an exceptional platform to grow.

About the role

As the Legal and Risk Operations Coordinator, you will support the delivery of high‑quality legal and risk advisory services across the organisation. Working closely with our Legal and Risk team members, you’ll manage core operational processes, coordinate legal matters, support risk reporting, and ensure smooth day‑to‑day functioning of the team.

This is a varied, highly impactful role where no two days look the same—you’ll be juggling administration, legal support, stakeholder communication, research and operational improvements that enhance the team’s overall capability.

Your responsibilities and contributions will be varied but will include:

Legal & Risk Coordination

  • Managing the team’s file management systems, matter intake processes and contract lifecycle administration.
  • Coordinating new legal matter requests, triage queries, clarify instructions and support efficient allocation to lawyers.
  • Acting as a key liaison between the Legal & Risk teams, internal stakeholders and external partners—handling initial enquiries and gathering information.
  • Assisting with reviewing and drafting template contracts, policies and legal documents under supervision.
  • Supporting the ongoing improvement of legal precedents, templates, tools and client resources.
  • Conducting legal research, summarise findings and prepare information for team use.

Risk & Compliance Support

  • Providing administrative support for risk reporting, board papers, internal audits, WHS Committee minutes and other governance tasks.
  • Assisting in monitoring compliance activities and ensuring documentation is accurate and well‑maintained.

Team Operations and Administration

  • Scheduling meetings, manage calendars, handling phone enquiries and providing general administrative support to the Head of Legal & Risk and the broader team.
  • Managing operational finance tasks such as invoice processing, budget monitoring, and expense reconciliation.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, workflows and team efficiency.
  • Assisting with ad hoc projects that advance the Legal, Risk & Compliance team’s strategic goals.

Desired Skills and Experience
